Helsingborg January 2008 Welcome to another year with me and my Canon PowerShot S3IS. Yes, I still use the same camera, and eventhough I feel quite acustomed to and comfortable with it I still haven't explored all its functions and possibilities. There is still a lot to learn, but I'm getting there. Slowly but steadily. A few words about 2007 I look upon 2007 as a year of learning the camera and gaining experience. It is my first digital camera (but by no means the last!) and a lot of new things to learn. I'm in no way new to photography as such. I have been taking pictures for almost 40 years, mainly using various Pentax SLR:s, though with a lot of gaps when I didn't take a single photo. I have also presented my photos on the net for about a decade now On my winding path into digital photography I had a lot of help from my previous years and the experience I gained then. Still, there was (and still is) a lot of new things to learn now, and that's what I have been doing the past year. I have also learnt a lot from my friends at S3users Forum! So, what about 2008? Well, there is still a lot for me to learn. No doubt about that. But I'd like to see 2008 as the year when I started practicing all the things I've learnt in 2007. Lars Brunkman |

2008-03-16 - Nature - Pålsjö Forest Lens: None Flash: No Settings: M mode, ISO 80, various shutter speeds and apertures ------------------------------------------- Pålsjö Forest is a smaller forest well within the city limit and quite frequented by joggers, families with and without children and the odd photographer :). There is also wildlife (mostly birds and rabbits) and a lot of interesting plants and insects. To the photos >> |

From several places you have a great view over the Öresund and Elsinore (Denmark) on the opposite side. Provided it isn't foggy of course. Here is a few photos. No view though. To the photos >> |

2008-03-16 - Nature - Dwarf Cherry blossoms Lens: Raynox DCR-150 Flash: No Settings: M mode, ISO 80, 1/100s, f8 ------------------------------------------- Not many trees blossom here yet, and those that do only holds a small number of blossoms. Like this Dwarf Cherry, Prunus cerasus. Not too many blossoms on it but enough to make it a little hard to pick which ones to photograph.. To the photos >> |

2008-03-16 - Miscellaneous - Moss and lichens Lens: None (zoom) Flash: No Settings: M mode, ISO 80, various shutter speeds and apertures ------------------------------------------- I think it's most common to use macro for things like moss and lichen, but it is possible also to use the zoom. You don't get the real close ups of course, but on the other hand the depth of focus is considerably better. And it's fun too. To the photos >> |

2008-03-16 - Macros - Lesser Celandine Lens: Raynox DCR-150 Flash: No Settings: M mode, ISO 80, 1/160 - 250s, f8 ------------------------------------------- In April you find yellow "carpets" of Lesser Celandine, Ranunculus ficaria. There are not that many around yet, but there will be. They are quite difficult to photograph, especially in sunlight, because of their shiny petals. These are a few of those I found today To the photos >> |
